STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State women's basketball ran its winning streak to six in a row, defeating Texas Tech, 70-57, in front of 3,567 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena on Sunday.
Â
With the win, No. 25 OSU improved to 18-4 overall and 8-3 in Big 12 play, while the Lady Raiders fell to 11-12 and 2-10. It is the first time since the 1992-93 season that the Cowgirls have won six straight games in conference play.
Â
Senior Brittney Martin once again showed why she is one of the best players in the nation as she scored 32 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Cowgirls.
Â
Martin's double-double extended her streak to eight consecutive contests with a double-double and brought her season total to 15. The All-American's 32 points also marked the second time this season she has surpassed the 30-point mark (35 vs. Missouri State).
Â
The Cowgirls used a 10-0 run in the first quarter to jump in front, and wouldn't trail the rest of the way. TTU got within one point of the lead near the end of the third quarter, but OSU would score eight unanswered points to pull away.
Â
Kaylee Jensen scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half to help the Cowgirls remain in front. Fellow sophomore, Mandy Coleman, also chipped in with 14 points - one shy of her career high.
OSU shot 20-23 from the free-throw line in the game. The 20 made free throws ties for the Cowgirls' second-highest total from the line this season.
Â
