Cowboy Football Announces 2016 Signing Class

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy announced Wednesday that 21 student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to join the Cowboy football program.
The newest group of Cowboys includes four junior college players, two of which are already enrolled and attending school at Oklahoma State, and 17 high school players, one of which is already enrolled as well.
There are nine states and two countries represented in the class, with six players from Texas, five from Oklahoma, two from Louisiana and one each from Kansas, Arkansas, North Carolina, Tennessee, Minnesota and Florida, as well as two from Alberta, Canada. All of the players were designated as at least a "three-star" prospect by several recruiting services and three players received a "four-star" rating.
"We've put together a very quality group for the future," Gundy said. "We're real excited about our class. We were more specific to needs this year than we ever have been, and I thought our coaches did a great job. The support from the university, academics and everyone involved in our official visits really contributed to our success.
"We're really looking forward to getting these guys here in June. We've obviously got a couple of them here, but for the most part, we were able to address some current needs and put some guys in the program that will help us in the future."
There were 12 signees on the offensive side of the ball and nine on defense. Of the 12 offensive signees, seven are expected to play on the offensive line, two at wide receiver, two at running back and one at quarterback. The defensive signees include four defensive backs, three linebackers and two defensive linemen.
