Cowboys Resume Spring Slate At The Hayt
February 25, 2016 | Cowboy Golf
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla.— Oklahoma State's men's golf team will be back in action this weekend when it takes part in the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational.
OSU will be one of 15 teams in action at the event, which will be contested at Sawgrass Country Club. The tournament will consist of 54 holes with 18 being played each day from Friday through Sunday at the par-72, 6,966-yard layout. The Cowboys will be paired with North Florida and UCLA for the first round, which is set to get underway at 9:45 a.m. (EST).
This year will mark the third consecutive year OSU has competed at the event. Two years ago, the Cowboys posted a 10-shot victory. Last season, they finished third.
The Cowboys opened the spring slate with a fifth-place showing earlier this month at The Ameri Ari Invitational in Hawaii. Junior Zachary Olsen led the way for OSU in the event, placing fourth.
Olsen, who finished fourth last year and third in 2014 at The Hayt, will be joined in the lineup by sophomore Brendon Jelley, senior Jordan Niebrugge, freshman Nick Heinen and junior Wyndham Clark. Sophomore Kristoffer Ventura and freshman Zach Bauchou will compete individually.
Live scoring for the event will be available at golfstat.com.
