Cowboys Break Into Top Ten

STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team garnered its first top-10 ranking of the season Sunday afternoon, coming in at No. 10 in the Associated Press and Amway Coaches polls. Under head coach Mike Gundy, the Cowboys have been ranked in the top ten for a total of 28 weeks.
After a 31-6 rout of TCU in Fort Worth on Saturday, the Cowboys jumped three spots from being ranked No. 13 in both polls last week. The OSU offensive attack was led by stellar performances from running backs Justice Hill and Chris Carson. Hill racked up 155 yards, while Carson added 147 and a score. It marked the first time the Cowboys fielded two 100-yard rushers in a single game since 2013's season-opening victory over Mississippi State.
The win pushed Oklahoma State to 9-2 on the season and extended the Pokes' win streak to seven. Only three times before has OSU won seven or more Big 12 games in a row. The Cowboys won seven in a row in 2011 and again in 2013, and won eight in a row from the end of 2014 through 2015.
The Cowboys are joined in the top 10 by No. 7 Oklahoma, who rose by one spot in both polls this week. West Virginia checks in at No. 19/17 this week as well.
The Cowboys play at Oklahoma in a winner-take-all Bedlam game for the Big 12 championship on Dec. 3.
