Ventura Finishes Third At All-America Classic

EL PASO, Texas – Oklahoma State's Kristoffer Ventura posted a 71 on Sunday to finish third at the Western Refining College All-America Classic at El Paso Country Club.
The Cowboy junior held a one-shot lead through 36 holes at the par-71, 6,889-yard layout after carding a pair of 67s on Saturday.
Ventura's even-par tally during his third round gave him a 54-hole total of 8-under 205, putting him one stroke behind Southern California's Justin Suh for second place. Sam Burns of LSU fired a closing 66 to win the tournament with a 12-under score of 201.
After carding a birdie on his opening hole, Ventura posted eight consecutive pars to go out in 1-under 35. He made his first bogey of the day at the 11th before bouncing back with a birdie at the 13th. He moved back to level par for the day with a bogey at the 15th.
Stratton Nolen closed with a 73 during his third round to finish alone in 18th place. The junior finished with a 5-over 218 total.
