Cowgirls Down Baylor, 12-8, in Big 12 Conference Opener

The No. 9-ranked Oklahoma State Equestrian team defeated No. 4 Baylor, 12-8, in the Big 12 Conference equestrian opener on Saturday at Totusek Arena. With the win, OSU improved to 2-1 on the season. The Cowgirls are 20-10 in the overall series against Baylor.

OSU 2016 NCEA All-American's Jorden Davis and Ebba Lange won each of their matchups. Davis' score of 90 on Equitation over Fences was the highest score of the day. Lange is 3-0 on the season in her Reining matchups.

Redshirt sophomore Mia Bray competed for her first time as a Cowgirl, winning her matchup in Equitation on the Flat, 73-69.

Davis, Lange and Miranda Reed all came away with Most Outstanding Performer honors. Reed posted the highest score in Horsemanship with a 74.5.
"The girls rode very well across all disciplines today," head coach Larry Sanchez said. "The win over Baylor, who is a very strong team, is a great way to start off the conference portion of our season."

Up next, OSU travels to Fort Worth to meet TCU on Nov. 5 for their second Big 12 matchup of the season.
