Cowgirls Earn 100th Win Of Littell Era

LUBBOCK, Texas — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team earned its 100th win under head coach Jim Littell on Wednesday night after knocking off Texas Tech, 69-46, in front of 4,121 fans inside United Supermarkets Arena.
The Cowgirls improved to 12-2 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play, while Tech fell to 9-5 and 0-3.
The Cowgirls used a 9-0 run over a 4-minute span to build an 11-4 lead before the Lady Raiders held OSU scoreless over the final 3:57 and scored the final eight points to lead 12-11.
OSU scored the first four of the second period and got six consecutive points from Brittney Martin as well as a 3-pointer from Roddricka Patton with three seconds remaining to take a 26-17 lead at the break.
Defensively, the Cowgirls held Tech to a 1-of-9 effort to close the half and just a 26 percent shooting effort through the first 20 minutes.
OSU opened the second half on a 10-2 run, including eight points in a row from Kaylee Jensen to extend the lead to 36-19. Tech cut it back to single digits before Karli Wheeler drilled three consecutive treys to close the quarter and push the lead to 17.
Wheeler scored the first bucket of the fourth for her eighth consecutive point and Martin added back-to-back buckets to extend to a 59-37 margin.
Wheeler finished with a game-high 19 points, while Jensen added a double-double, finishing with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Martin scored 16 points and Patton added 14 assists.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Saturday when they host Texas at 5 p.m.
