January 23, 2016 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State football standout Dick Graham has passed away. He was 65 years old.
A three-year letterman from 1969-71, Graham was OSU's top receiver as a senior in 1971, logging a team-best 41 receptions and 631 receiving yards. For his career, Graham caught 122 passes for 997 yards and six touchdowns. A contributor in all three phases of the game, Graham also played quarterback, halfback and defensive back during his time with the Pokes and was an important figure on OSU's special teams units, serving as the Cowboys' primary punt return man all three years.
Graham took a kickoff back 98 yards for a touchdown against national champion Nebraska in 1970, a return that was the longest in school history at the time and still to this day ranks among the top 10 at Oklahoma State. In that same game against the Huskers, he caught seven passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns, one of which covered 84 yards.
A native of Amarillo, Texas, and a graduate of Amarillo HS, Graham was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 17th round of the 1971 NFL Draft.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Kids, Inc., 2201 SE 27th Avenue, Amarillo, TX, 79103.
