Rickie Fowler Wins Deutsche Bank

NORTON, Mass. — Former Oklahoma State All-American Rickie Fowler picked up his third win of the year and second PGA Tour triumph of the season on Monday, claiming a one-shot victory at the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston.
Fowler, who trailed Henrik Stenson by a stroke heading into the final round posted a 3-under 68 to finish at 15-under 269 and a shot ahead of Stenson. Fowler eagled the par-5 second hole before moving back to even par with bogeys on the next two holes. However, he would play error-free golf the rest of the way.
After carding a birdie at the seventh, he moved to 2-under with a birdie at the 11th, a 230-yard par 3. His final birdie of the day came at the 14th where he rolled in a 40-foot birdie putt to stay within striking distance.
Trailing by one, Fowler moved in front for the first time with a par at the 16th with a par after Stenson's tee shot found the water and led to a double bogey. Fowler closed out the victory with pars over the final two holes.
Joining Fowler in the top five was former Cowboy standout Hunter Mahan, who posted a closing 70 to finish at 8-under 276 and tied for fourth place.
In addition to his victory on Monday, Fowler won THE PLAYERS Championship and the Scottish Open earlier this year. The win also moved him into third place in the FedEx Cup standings.
