Cowgirl Soccer: Looking Back & Ahead

Oklahoma State opened Big 12 Conference play last weekend with a pair of road losses, falling 1-0 to Baylor in overtime on Friday before suffering a 3-0 setback at TCU Sunday.

Recapping The Weekend

Friday's game at Baylor marked the second time OSU has played an overtime game this season. The Cowgirls are now 0-2-0 in those matches; they also lost in the first overtime at No. 5 Florida on Sept. 4.
On Sunday, OSU outshot TCU by a 14-12 margin and owned a 7-4 advantage on corner kicks but could not find the back of the net.
The two shutouts marked just the second and third matches this season OSU has failed to score.

Through 11 games this season, OSU has recorded 17 goals and 12 assists. In 21 games in 2014, the Cowgirls had 22 goals and 15 assists.
Ten different OSU players have scored goals this season, and seven different Cowgirls have collected assists.
OSU has scored multiple goals in six matches this season, already equaling its total from 2014. A year ago, the Cowgirls did not score more than two goals in a game — they've done it twice this season.

Michela Ongaro finished with seven saves last weekend, tallying four against Baylor and three at TCU.
Allie Stephenson's career shots total now stands at 190, with the senior midfielder needing three more attempts to move into the top five on OSU's all-time list. With three more assists, she will also enter the top 10 on the Cowgirls' all-time list.
Courtney Dike ranks in the top 10 in the Big 12 in goals (3), assists (3) and points (9). With 19 career goals, the junior is just two shy of cracking OSU's career top 10.
In the latest official NCAA RPI, OSU comes in at No. 91.

After playing just once on its home field since Aug. 30 — seven road matches, one at home — OSU returns to the Cowgirl Soccer Complex this weekend and will play six of its final eight regular season matches on its home field.
The Cowgirls host 14^th-ranked Texas Tech Friday night. The Red Raiders are 7-1-3 on the season and opened league play last Friday by tying Oklahoma, 0-0, in Norman.
OSU is 13-6-3 all time against Texas Tech and has not lost to the Red Raiders since 2012. Last season, the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw in Lubbock.
TTU is led by senior All-American and Canadian National Team member Janine Beckie, who has recorded three goals and four assists on the season.
On Sunday, OSU will square off against Texas. The Longhorns are 3-3-3 overall and dropped their Big 12 opener by a 2-0 count at No. 5 West Virginia last week.
OSU is 9-10-5 all time against Texas and has won each of the last two meetings by a 2-1 margin.
UT senior goalie Abby Smith leads the Big 12 with 57 saves on the season and has recorded three shutouts.
