STILLWATER – Several former members of the Oklahoma State football team saw action in week two of the NFL season.
Like last week, the Dallas Cowboys' pack of five former OSU stars was essential to helping the team defeat the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-10, and move to 2-0 on the season. After starting quarterback Tony Romo went down with an injury in the third quarter, Brandon Weeden stepped in and provided a flawless performance for the remainder of the contest. The Edmond, Okla., native tossed a 43-yard touchdown and connected on 7-of-7 pass attempts to help seal the victory.
Joseph Randle added to the effort with 51 rushing yards on 18 carries, while kicker Dan Bailey nailed two field goals and was perfect on two PAT attempts. Tyler Patmon broke up two pass attempts in the contest and continues to contribute to a Dallas defense that has only allowed two offensive touchdowns this season.
Also representing Oklahoma State was defensive end Antonio Smith, who provided three tackles, one tackle for loss and a sack in Denver's 31-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The sack was Smith's first of the year and helped the Broncos maintain a perfect 2-0 record.
Tennessee Titans cornerback Perrish Cox had two tackles and one pass break up in a 28-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns, while Kevin Williams recorded two tackles in New Orleans' defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
