STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State standout receiver Adarius Bowman has been named a Canadian Football League (CFL) Shaw Top Performer for Week 12, the league announced Tuesday.
Bowman, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., caught two touchdowns on Saturday to help the Edmonton Eskimos snap a 12-game losing streak against the Calgary Stampeders. With the win, the Eskimos maintained a hold of second place in the CFL's West division.
The former Cowboy wideout starred in Edmonton's 26-17 victory, hauling in touchdowns of 14 and 50 yards amidst a six catch, 104-yard performance. The effort comes in the middle of an outstanding season for Bowman, who ranks second in the league in receiving yards (716) and receptions (52).
Despite only playing two seasons for the Cowboys, Bowman stands as one the most dangerous deep threats in Oklahoma State history. Between 2006 and 2007, Bowman earned top-ten spots in the OSU record books in receptions (127), receiving yards (2,187) and touchdowns (20), while holding the No. 1 all-time mark in average yards per catch (17.22).
Bowman also provided one of the most electrifying individual performances in Oklahoma State and Big 12 history with his 13 catch, 300-yard effort against Kansas in 2006, a mark that remains as the OSU single-game record in yards receiving.
