September 13, 2015 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team is ranked in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls released today, breaking in at No. 25 in both rankings.
This marks the first time the Cowboys (2-0 overall, 0-0 Big 12) have appeared in this season's national rankings after receiving votes over the first two weeks of polls.
Oklahoma State defeated Central Arkansas, 32-8, Saturday night in the team's first game at Boone Pickens Stadium in 2015. The Cowboys have now won 20-consecutive home openers dating back 1995.
Since 2008, OSU has held a spot in the national rankings 87 times, a run that includes several stays in the top 10 and a program-high No. 2 ranking in 2011. This week, Oklahoma State was joined by three other Big 12 teams in the polls, including TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma.
The Cowboys return to action Saturday as they host UTSA at 2:30 p.m. at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater.
