Adkins On The Cowboy Offensive Line

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State football team held practice Friday afternoon at the Sherman E. Smith Training Facility. Offensive line coach Greg Adkins spoke about the team following the session.
Offensive Line Coach Greg Adkins
On today's practice:
"Coming out of the scrimmage yesterday, I thought we were a little lethargic as an offense overall. I thought we came out with a lot more energy and a good tempo today. Today was a much better day."
On the development of the offensive line throughout camp:
"I think what we've seen so far are the things we preached in the spring. Things are really starting to carry over, and we're getting a little bit better. We've had a consistent lineup for all of camp, which is good. Over the last three of four days, we've been able to mix and match some people and work on some guys from guard to tackle and tackle to guard. Those things are a still a work in progress."
On competition in his position group:
"For the most part, I think I know who is going to be out there for the first game. There are still a couple of ongoing battles, particularly for those backup roles."
On studying for Central Michigan while improving the team:
"I think it's a combination of both. We're still trying to get ourselves better. We're taking a portion of our day, obviously, to look at Central Michigan. Still, the main focus right now is Oklahoma State. We're looking at what we can do to make ourselves better as an offensive line and as an offense."
On improvement he'd like to see before the season opener:
"We just need to continue to improve on the things that we are already doing well. What we can't do is have the ebbs and flows of some of the things we've seen out here during camp. Consistency is what I'm looking for in the offensive line and as an offense."
