On today's practice:
"It was good. Another opportunity. I like when we put the ball down and line it up a little bit. We had another chance to get better and polish some things up. We're moving even closer to be being game-ready."

On Chris Carson and Jeff Carr:
"They've done a really nice job. Chris is pretty much what we expected in regards to being a mature athlete who is big, strong and does really nice things. I'm excited about the way he has taken on the role with the one's. Carr has done a really nice job. He's another guy who is really explosive and displays that he's got some talent that we can put out there, probably pretty early on. He's gotten better every day. That's the best part about those guys. They've both gotten better every day."

On Rennie Childs, the most experienced back of the group:
"He's been solid. He's been solid all throughout the spring. He's another guy who has been trending up since I got here. He has obviously built off of the spring. He's a 'Steady Eddie.' He's done a really nice job, and I'm excited to see him continue on."

On the versatility of the running backs group:
"There are pluses and minuses of it. You don't want to have guys that you'll have to pull out in certain situations and have just a big back on short yardage or a guy you can't have on third down in a passing situation. With the versatility, in that regard, they are all very different. Some of them are more make-you-miss guys, while some are more of a slasher, downhill type of guy. Some even have more power, but at the end of the day, I've got to shrink the gap between the versatility of them all in order to make sure their utility is practical. In our system, we can't be pulling guys on and off the field on every play."

On areas of improvement he'd like to see:
"More than anything, I think our main emphasis has been coming out every day and making sure we don't make the same mistakes. We're doing some things in pass protection that are a little bit different. They're doing a really good job in the run game with staying detailed. The hardest part is doing the same thing over and over again and making sure that the repetition doesn't put you to sleep. That's what makes you the best."
