Cowgirl Trio Named To Preseason All-Big 12 Team

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State placed a league-high three players on the 2015 Preseason All-Big 12 Conference Soccer Team, it was announced today.
Forwards Courtney Dike and Madison Mercado and midfielder Allie Stephenson were selected to the team by the league's head coaches. West Virginia also had three players named to the squad.
All three Cowgirls are multiple-time All-Big 12 performers. Stephenson was a first-team pick last season after earning second-team plaudits in 2013, while Mercado was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2012 and 2014. Dike has earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team in each of her first two seasons in an OSU uniform.
Stephenson enters her senior season with 14 goals and 11 assists in her career. As a junior, she was OSU's leading scorer and ranked in the top 10 in the Big 12 with six goals, 15 points and 60 shots.
A junior, Dike has racked up 16 goals and seven assists in 41 career games, including a freshman campaign that saw her finish second in the Big 12 in goals (13) and points (30).
Mercado's first three seasons in an OSU uniform produced 13 goals and 10 assists in 60 games. In 2013, she ranked second in the conference with seven assists, and four of her nine goals over the last two seasons have been game winners.
