STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State football team continued fall camp with a two-hour practice Wednesday morning at the Sherman E. Smith Training Facility. Following the session, Cowboy backs coach Jason McEndoo talked about the practice.

On today's practice:
"I felt like it was great. Having the temperatures be a little cooler and having a couple of days off really helped the guys come out and have a lot of energy."
On the versatility of the Cowboy back position:
"I tell you what, if you're a tight end or a fullback out there, then you want to play in this offense. We're on the field 90 percent of time. The guys have got a lot of things they're doing and a lot of versatility, and they're relishing that role. Like I told them, the more plays they want to give us, the more we'll take care of everything they throw at us."
On the strengths of the Cowboy backs group:
"I think the strength of the group is the group. They're all so versatile that we can throw those guys in multiple positions, whether it's an end-line guy, a wing guy or a traditional fullback, and then split them out. I think they're doing a great job with that. They've embraced the role themselves, and they've embraced the versatility, which is great."
On improvement he'd like to see before the season opener:
"I think we've just got to keep bringing the physicality, putting a facemask on guys, and finishing at the top end. I think they've all got to be a little better with their hands, hand placement and finding out those little details that I don't think they've been used to in the past."
On the closeness of the Cowboy backs group:
"I love it. Coming from coaching the offensive line, where you've got 15 to 17 guys with a lot of moving parts, it's great because now I've got seven guys in my group. It's very intimate. I can spend more time, spend more individual one-on-one time and not feel like I'm leaving anybody out. I really love the group. Five out of the seven are Oklahoma kids, so that's very important to them. It's a real hard-working group. It's easy to coach guys who want to be coached. They show up every day to go to work, and they're very coachable. We're having a great time."
