One of five newcomers to the Oklahoma State program in 2015 is Christina Jean-Charles, a versatile defender and midfielder who joined the Cowgirls in January after a standout junior college career.
A native of New City, N.Y., Jean-Charles developed a passion for soccer from her father, Pierre, who hails from Haiti. She honed her talents during a standout high school career at Clarkstown South High School in West Nyack, N.Y. before playing two seasons at Monroe College in New York City.
Jean-Charles enjoyed two impressive seasons at Monroe, with accolades that include:
• Started 33 career games for the Mustangs
• Named an NJCAA First-Team All-American in 2014
• Helped lead Monroe to a 32-3-1 record and two appearances in the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championships
• Starred on team that won the 2014 NJCAA Division I national championship
• 2014 Monroe team finished 18-1-1 and recorded 11 shutouts and a 0.57 goals-against average
• Was an NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Award winner in 2013-14
