Cowboy Baseball Senior Salute: Tim Arakawa
June 02, 2015 | Cowboy Baseball
Tim Arakawa had a big impact on the Oklahoma State baseball program in a short amount of time. In two seasons in a Cowboy uniform, the Honolulu, Hawaii native started 123 games at second base, missing just one of OSU's games over the last two seasons.
A transfer from Yavapai Community College, Arakawa was part of Cowboy teams that won 86 games, hosted two NCAA Regionals, won the program's first-ever Big 12 Conference regular season championship and advanced to the third NCAA Super Regional in school history.
Here's a list of some of Arakawa's notable individual accomplishments during his career in Stillwater:
• Two-time All-Big 12 Second Team infielder
• Career .277 batting average to go along with six home runs, 81 RBIs, 16 doubles, four triples and 25 stolen bases
• Also had a .405 on-base percentage and drew 89 walks
• Turned in a .991 fielding percentage as a senior, recording 200 assists and 117 putouts and recording only three errors
• Ended career with a 33-game streak of reaching base safely
• Recorded 30 multi-hit games and 24 multi-RBI efforts
• Named to the 2014 NCAA Stillwater Regional All-Tournament Team
• Proved to be one of OSU's most clutch hitters and had three walk-off hits, including one in the 2015 NCAA Stillwater Regional against St. John's
