Last Time Out
The men's 4X100-meter relay team ran a season best 39.64 to advance to the National Semifinal in Eugene, Ore.
Sharod Selph, Tyler Jackson, Arlando Brewer-Johnson and John Teeters became the first Cowboy 4X100 team to reach the NCAA
Championships in 33 years.
Chad Noelle automatically qualified after running the best time of the West Regional in the men's 1,500-meter quarterfinal. The Big 12 champion
took the lead with 20 meters to go and crossed the finish line in 3:41.96 to earn a spot in his second NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Natalja Piliusina returns to Eugene in the race that she won a national title in back in 2013 after running a 4:17.69 to win the second heat of the
1,500-meter quarterfinal.
Teeters becomes the first Cowboy to qualify for back-to-back 100-meter semifinals after running a 10.00 and finishing second in heat three.
In the women's 800-meter quarterfinal, Kaela Edwards and Savannah Camacho finished first and third, respectively, in heat two, automatically
advancing to the national semifinal.
OSU record-holder Ingeborg Loevnes grabbed a spot in the 3,000-meter steeplechase semifinal by winning her heat in 9:59.18.
Kirubel Erassa closed out the West Regional for the Cowboys in the 5,000-meter quarterfinal. The seven-time All-American finished third in the
first heat, earning an automatic qualifying spot.
A Look Back
At the 2014 NCAA Championships, the Cowboys finished 13th.
Shadrick Kipchirchir finished second in the 5,000-meter run and ninth in the 10,000-meter run earning eight points for the Cowboys and two
All-America honors.
Kirubel Erassa also ran in the 5,000 and finished 18th.
Nick Miller took second in the hammer throw, earning his fifth All-America honor.
The lone Cowgirl, Monika Juodeskaite took 20th in the 5,000-meter run, and John Teeters finished 21st in the 100-meter dash.
Cowboys at No. 20 in Pre-NCAA Rankings
In the week nine release of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's top-25 rankings, the Cowboys held firm at
No. 20.
Although OSU held on to its position amongst the NCAA elite, the Cowboys earned 6.77 points closing the gap on No. 19 Alabama to just two
points.
The Cowgirls slipped down to 38 after being in the top-25 all season.
Despite the rank, the Cowgirls are sending four athletes to the National Championships. Kaela Edwards and Ingeborg Loevnes each have top-10
times in their respective events, and Natalja Piliusina and Savannah Camacho both won Big 12 titles at this year's Outdoor Conference
Championships.
The 20th ranked Cowboys have three individual representatives and the 4X100-meter relay team heading to Eugene.
John Teeters and Chad Noelle both have top-10 times in the NCAA and Kirubel Erassa won two titles at this year's Big 12 Championships.
The final USTFCCCA ranking will be released after the NCAA Championships.
Ealey, Loevnes No. 1 in School History
Chase Ealey's spectacular 2015 outdoor season has seen her personal best and the OSU school record fall three times in three months.
Ealey threw a 17.39m in the shot put final at the 2015 Big 12 Outdoor Championships, marking the first time in her career with a throw over 17
meters.
Her performance gives her the top spot in three events -- the outdoor and indoor shot put and the javelin.
Earlier in the indoor season, Ealey also set the record for the indoor shot put and qualified for nationals where she received second-team
All-America honors.
Ealey's mark is currently third in the Big 12 and eighth in the NCAA this season.
Joining Ealey this season in the record books is Cowgirl newcomer Ingeborg Loevnes.
The Norwegian middle-distance runner shattered a 10-year-old school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase when she ran a 9:56.30 at the
Stanford Invitational on April 3.
She broke her own record again at the Payton Jordan Invitational when she ran a 9:48.89, the fifth fastest time in the NCAA this season and the
fastest steeplechase time in the Big 12.
OSU Leads Big 12 in Academic Honors
The Oklahoma State track and field program was recognized for its academic excellence as 36 athletes earned All-Big 12 academic honors, the
conference announced last week.
The Cowgirls led the Big 12 with 26 honors and 24 first-team Academic All-Big 12 athletes finishing with a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Seniors Caileigh
Glenn and Paige Wikle, junior Brittney Reid and sophomore Ambra Wesley led the Cowgirls, earning first-team honors with a 4.0 GPA.
OSU had 12 back-to-back recipients and Brian Gohlke's third consecutive honor was one of the 10 academic honors for the Cowboys. Nine
Cowboys earned first-team honors, giving OSU the third most in the conference.
OSU's 36 total team members are the most in the Big 12 and the most in school history since the squads combined for 36 in 2007.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher (either cumulative or the two previous semesters) and must have participated in 60
percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student
athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
