Sophomore safety looks to build on his success from a year ago.
STILLWATER, Okla. -- Safety Tre Flowers made a significant impact in his first year playing last season.
Flowers, then a redshirt freshman, played in 12 games and started six times at safety. At 6-3, 190 pounds, Flowers' athleticism made him a rangy player who was solid in coverage. His experience as a long jumper on OSU's track and field team is also a testament to his skillset.
When all was said and done in 2014, Flowers was the sixth-leading tackler on the team with 56 tackles, including 47 solo stops, and recorded at least five tackles in seven games.
Flowers' best game came in a win over the Iowa State Cyclones as he finished with eight tackles. He was also credited with one tackle for loss against both TCU and Texas, and totaled three pass breakups on the year.
As a sophomore heading into the 2015 season, Flowers looks to be another integral part of the Cowboy defense and build on the success he saw as a freshman a year ago.
