SOUTHPORT, England — Oklahoma State rising senior Jordan Niebrugge qualified for The Open Championship this week after advancing through the final qualifying stage at Hillside Golf Club.

For the Mequon, Wis., native, it will be his first start at a major championship since competing at The Masters in 2014. Niebrugge will be the first Cowboy to compete at The Open as an amateur since Peter Uihlein tied for 48th place in 2011 at Royal St. George's.
