Cowgirl Soccer Adds Two
June 22, 2015 | Cowgirl Soccer
STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State head coach Colin Carmichael has added a pair of players to the Cowgirl soccer roster for the 2015, he announced today.
Both players joining the program are from the prep ranks — midfielder Morgan McDougal starred at Mountain Vista High School in Colorado, while Megan Royall was a standout goalkeeper at Collinsville High School.
"We're excited to add these two young ladies to the OSU soccer program; they're both very good athletes and exceptional people who will improve our program on the field and in classroom," Carmichael said. "Morgan is a very versatile player who can play in the midfield or as a wide back. She's a very skillful and technically clean player who will compete for minutes immediately. Megan will help add depth to our goalkeeper position. She has good physical tools and is an extremely hard worker."
• Morgan McDougal, MF, Highlands Ranch, Colo. (Mountain Vista HS/REAL Colorado ECNL)
McDougal played for coach Lorne Donaldson's REAL Colorado ECNL team and was a four-year letterwinner at MVHS, where she played in 57 games and recorded 10 goals and 13 assists. She was a two-time all-state performer in high school and helped lead the Golden Eagles to a Class 5A state championship in 2013 and back-to-back state semifinal appearances in 2014 and 2015. Also a basketball player at Mountain Visa, McDougal was named the school's Female Athlete of the Year in 2015.
• Megan Royall, GK, Collinsville, Okla. (Collinsville HS/TSC Hurricane 97)
Royall has spent time with the Oklahoma Olympic Development Program and has played for coach Kenny Killingsworth and TSC Hurricane 97 since 2012, where she was a member of the Oklahoma state champion team in 2015. A four-year varsity starter at CHS, she earned All-State honors as a senior. Royall has also played for Extreme Soccer Club and the Oklahoma Texans.
