STILLWATER -- The Oklahoma State football team held its ninth practice of spring ball Friday at the Sherman E. Smith Training Facility. After the approximately two hour-long session, tight ends coach Jason McEndoo shared his thoughts:
On Friday's practice:
"It was practice No. 9 for us, so I feel like the game is slowing down a little bit for the guys. We're doing multiple things with them in a lot of different positions. Coming off the big scrimmage from the other day, today's focus was just to calm our minds down and be in the right spot and in the right assignments."
On how the tight ends are developing:
"We've come a long way since practice No. 1. With this group, with the tight ends and the Cowboy backs -- what we're calling this hybrid position -- I've counted up some of our reps and we've been on the field about 90 percent of the reps thus far. We're doing a lot of multiple things and we're just trying to build the foundation. I think we're coming along and each practice has been better."
On moving to Stillwater and OSU:
"Stillwater is great. The town is actually smaller than what we're coming from in Bozeman, Mont.; obviously, the facilities are bigger. The people are awesome. It's a slice of a small-town Americana. My family just got her for the weekend and they've loved every bit of it. I'm still walking on cloud nine."
On goals for the tight ends:
"Goals for this group moving forward is just to continue to build a foundation. We want to get the offense installed and ready to go for the fall and then we'll come back and look and see what we really want to hang our hat on. This group is going to continue to be versatile and establish a presence and finish every play."
