Cowgirls Shine at Bobcat Invitational, Texas Relays

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls earned three top-10 finishes in the first day of a big weekend of competition for the OSU track and field program.
Ieva Zarankaite won her second-straight discus competition Thursday at the Bobcat Invitational on the campus of Texas State University. In just her first throw, Zarankaite recorded a 54.13m mark, which kept her in the lead for the remainder of the preliminaries and finals. Joining Zarankaite in the top-10 was Katie Kehl who threw a personal best 46.85m.
Kehl's mark replaces her prior career best as the No. 7 throw in school history.
Cassandra Voss also topped her personal best in the discus posting a mark of 44.66, good enough for 13th and ninth in school history.
Just 32 miles north of the Bobcat Invitational, the 88th Texas Relays entered day two of competition in Austin, Texas.
In the 4X800-meter relay, OSU's team of , Natalja Piliusina, Kaylee Dodd, Ingeborg Loevnes and Savannah Camacho finished runner-up with a time of 8:45.78.
The Cowgirls will return to action Friday at the Bobcat Invitational and Texas Relays and they will join the Cowboys Saturday at the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
