Game Notes
► After being outrebounded by 12 of their last 13 opponents, including their previous three, the Cowboys out rebounded the Ducks, 31-28. Oklahoma State grabbed nine offensive boards for 10 second-chance points. The Ducks three offensive rebounds for four second-chance points.
► The Ducks shot 29-for-53 (54.7 percent) from the field on Friday to top the Cowboys' 27-for-60 (45 percent) performance from the floor.
► Cowboy point guard Hickey maintained his hot shooting from beyond the arc, hitting five of 10 three-point attempts. His five makes from three-point range tied a season high.
► Hickey's five made three-point field goals against Oregon tie former Cowboys Terrel Harris (vs. Pittsburgh, 2009), Adrian Peterson (vs. Syracuse, 1999) and Randy Rutherford (vs. New Mexico State, 1994) for most made three-pointers in an NCAA Tournament game in program history.
► Oregon's Joseph Young led all scorers with 27 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field. Young also tallied four rebounds and four assists. Young, Elgin Cook and Dillon Brooks all scored in double figures to combine for 62 of Oregon's 79 points and lift the Ducks over the Pokes.
► Oregon's 43 points in the first period were the most points allowed by the Cowboys in a first half all season.
► For the first time this season, the Cowboys failed to record a block against the Ducks. Oregon, however, rejected six Cowboy shots.
► With 12 points tonight, freshman Tavarius Shine earned himself a new career high, topping his previous high of 12. Shine scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half.
► The Cowboys jumped out to a 36-28 lead late in the first half, but an 15-3 Oregon run over the final four minutes of the period gave the Ducks a 43-39 advantage at the break. Joseph Young scored all 15 Oregon points during the run and ended the half with 17.
► In the second half, the Cowboys regained the lead with an 11-2 run in the second half; The Oklahoma State lead would be short lived, however, as Oregon responded by rattling off 11 unanswered points. The Ducks led for the final 9:47 of the game.
