INDIANAPOLIS - Nine Oklahoma State wrestlers received at-large bids, with six Cowboys earning seeds for the 2015 NCAA Wrestling Championships on March 19-21 in St. Louis, Mo.
The Big 12 Championships did not serve as a qualifying tournament this season.
The Cowboys boast a No. 1 seed in 165 pounder Alex Dieringer, who won the NCAA title at 157 pounds in 2014. The junior brings a perfect 28-0 record into the championships with 24 bonus-point wins and seven wins over ranked opponents.
All-American Austin Marsden, fresh off winning his second-consecutive Big 12 title at heavyweight, comes in as the No. 4 seed. He will face Jared Johnson of Tennessee-Chattanooga in the first round.
Seeking his first All-America honor, Eddie Klimara, the No. 7 seed at 125 pounds, will face Trey Andrews of Northern Colorado in his first match of the tourney. He holds a 20-5 overall record.
The Pokes take in two No. 12 seeds in Kyle Crutchmer (174) and Nolan Boyd (184). Crutchmer takes on Jadean Bernstein in the first round, while Boyd will face Lelund Weatherspoon, who he defeated in the Big 12 finals last weekend.
Dean Heil will head to his first NCAA tournament as the No. 14 seed at 141 pounds. The redshirt freshman will see Wisconsin's Jesse Thielke in the first round.
Also receiving at-large bids are Gary Wayne Harding (133), Josh Kindig (149) and Anthony Collica (157).
The championships will be held March 19-21 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. For ticket information visit ncaa.com/wrestling.
