Cowboys Third At John Hayt Intercollegiate

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Oklahoma State's men's golf team carded a 298 during its second round at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational on Saturday to slip into a tie for third place at Sawgrass Country Club.
The Cowboys' 10-over score gave them a 19-over total of 595, tying them with UCLA at the par-72, 6,976-yard layout. Texas fired a 280 to move up four spots into the lead at 581.
Texas' Beau Hossler used a 66 to move up 20 spots into the individual lead, finishing the day at 2-under 142.
Jordan Niebrugge led the Cowboy starting five, posting a 73 to move into a tie for fifth place at 147.
Sophomore Zachary Olsen carded a 74 to stand in a tie for 13th place at 149, while sophomore Wyndham Clark also finished at 149 after posting a 75.
Freshman Kristoffer Ventura's second consecutive 76 tied him for 33rd place at 152.
Senior Tanner Kesterson's 78 also gave him a 152 total.
OSU has a pair of individuals competing individually at the event. Redshirt freshman Brendon Jelley's 70 moved him into a tie for ninth place at 148.
Freshman Sam Stevens' 78 gave him a 159 total and tied him for 67th.
The Cowboys will get their final round underway tomorrow at 9 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Texas and North Florida.
