Cowboys Finish Sixth In Hawaii

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up its first event of the spring season on Saturday with a sixth-place finish at the Amer Ari Invitational at Waikoloa Kings' Course.
The Cowboys posted a 16-under score of 272 during their third round to finish at 31-under 833 and tied with Texas Tech. Arizona State finished atop the leaderboard at the par-72, 7,074-yard layout, posting a 38-under score of 826.
Washington's Cheng-Tsung Pan fired a closing 69 to post a 17-under total of 199 to finish two shots clear of the field in the individual race.
Freshman Kristoffer Ventura led the OSU starting five, tying for fifth place at 204. Ventura closed with a 67 to get to his 12-under total.
Junior Jordan Niebrugge posted the squad's low round of the day with a 66 to get in with a 206 total and tied for 11th place.
Sophomore Zachary Olsen's 70 tied him for 43rd at 213, while freshman Sam Stevens carded a 69 to finish at 213 as well.
Redshirt freshman Brendon Jelley carded a 74 during his third round to finish at 219 and tied for 73rd place.
Senior Tanner Kesterson competed individually, tying for 32nd place at 211 after finishing with a 70.
The Cowboys will be back in action on Feb. 16 at The Prestige in Palm Springs, Calif.
