February 15, 2015 | Cowboy Golf
LA QUINTA, Calif. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team will be back in action this week when it begins play at The Prestige at PGA WEST at the Nicklaus Tournament Course.
OSU opened its spring slate earlier this month with a sixth-place showing at the Amer Ari Invitational in Hawaii.
This week's event will consist of 54 holes with 18 holes being played each day Monday through Wednesday at the par-72, 7,204-yard layout. The Cowboys will be one of 14 teams in action this week and will be grouped with San Diego State and Arizona State. The trio of teams will begin first-round action at 8:33 a.m. (PST).
OSU's starting lineup will consist of junior Jordan Niebrugge, sophomores Wyndham Clark and Zachary Olsen as well as freshmen Sam Stevens and Kristoffer Ventura. Senior Tanner Kesterson will compete in the event as an individual as well.
Live scoring for the event will be available at golfstat.com.
Additionally, redshirt freshman Brendon Jelley will be in action at the first-ever Northern Trust Open Collegiate Showcase at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Jelley will be paired with former Cowboy All-American and current PGA Tour standout Morgan Hoffmann. Fourteen schools will be represented at the event with the low medalist among the collegians earning a spot in this week's PGA stop at the Northern Trust Open.
