Oklahoma State Post-Game Notes
Final Score: TCU 70, No. 21 Oklahoma State 55
Game Notes
► TCU converted on 16 of its 26 field goal attempts in the second half (.615 pct.) and turnovers doomed the Cowboys, who committed 17 in the game - their second-highest total of the season.
► The loss snapped OSU's three-game winning streak and moved the Cowboys to 12-3 against unranked opponents this season.
► Oklahoma State suffered through a 4:24 scoring drought in the second half. During that time, TCU went on a 10-0 run to turn a 37-32 deficit into a 42-37 lead with 13:37 remaining. The Cowboys were not able to put together any kind of sustained run from that point, then TCU pulled away in the final four minutes of the contest to seal its win.
► Le'Bryan Nash passed Desmond Mason to move into fifth on the Oklahoma State career scoring chart as part of Saturday's game. He now has 1,720 career points. He entered the game just one point shy of Mason's career total of 1,702 points.
► Jeff Newberry scored 10 points, marking his eighth double-figure scoring game of the year and his third in the last three games.
► Oklahoma State held a 28-26 lead at halftime, thanks in part to its defense, which held TCU to 41.7 percent shooting from the field and 0-for-5 shooting from three-point range. The Cowboys forced TCU to commit nine turnovers before halftime and held Kyan Anderson to 2-of-7 shooting from the field and forced him into committing three turnovers before half. Le'Bryan Nash led OSU with 10 points before half. He converted on 5-of-7 from the field before picking up his second foul and being relegated to the bench for the final 5:10.
► After taking a 19-15 lead with 7:51 remaining in the first half, OSU endured a five minute and 15 second scoring drought to open the door for TCU to take a 22-19 lead. The Cowboys closed out the half with a 9-4 run to take a 28-26 lead into the locker room.
► Michael Cobbins picked up two quick fouls in the first half and was stuck on the bench for all but six minutes before halftime.
► The game was played in the Wilkerson-Greines Athletic Center in Fort Worth while TCU's regular home, Daniel Meyer Coliseum, underwent renovations.
► Oklahoma State was charged with a technical foul during pregame warmups when a player dunked the ball. As a result, TCU's Kyan Anderson made two free throws and the Horned Frogs held 2-0 lead before the game clock started.
► Among those taking in the game was former Oklahoma State All-American Marcus Smart, who came to watch the Cowboys while his Boston Celtics were on the All-Star break.
