Longtime Cowboy Football Assistant Passes Away

STILLWATER, Okla. — Former Oklahoma State football administrative assistant Joyce Robbins passed away from natural causes today at the age of 73.

Robbins was part of the OSU football program for three decades and worked as an administrative aid for six Cowboy head coaches during her career, serving in that capacity under Jim Stanley, Jimmy Johnson, Pat Jones, Bob Simmons, Les Miles and Mike Gundy.

"Joyce was a rock of our program for many years," Gundy said. "She loved Oklahoma State and was a vital part of our organization. She was a true Cowgirl and will be missed."

Following a stint as the executive secretary to OSU's vice president for student services, Robbins joined the OSU football program as the secretary to Stanley in 1976. She continued to work under Stanley, Johnson, Jones and Simmons until 1998.

After a brief retirement, Robbins returned to the football staff under Miles in 2001 and was the administrative assistant for Miles and then Gundy until retiring again following the 2009 season.

Funeral services for Robbins are set for 2 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 11 at Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater.
