STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football standouts Emmanuel Ogbah, Jordan Burton and Jordan Sterns have each been named to the Associated Press All Big-12 First Team, it was announced Wednesday.
Obgah, a native of Houston, Texas, was also voted as the conference's defensive player of the year, gaining 16 of 20 votes. The honor comes after the junior defensive end was selected as a Sporting News and Walter Camp All-American earlier this week.
This marks the second postseason accolade for Sterns, who was voted to the All-Big 12 second team along with teammates James Washington and Jimmy Bean. The Cibolo, Texas, native finished third in the Big 12 with 8.6 tackles per contest, while Burton followed close behind with a top-ten mark (7.6) in the same category.
Each of Oklahoma State's three AP All-Big 12 First Team selections played vital roles for OSU's defensive unit this season, which helped the Cowboys to a 10-2 regular season mark and a berth in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The trio of honorees gave the Cowboys the fourth-most selections on the ballot, trailing Oklahoma (7), Baylor (5) and TCU (4).
The annual AP All-Big 12 team was selected by a 20-member media panel representing each of the conference's five states.
