After GIA; Tony Allen Already In Form

STILLWATER – Several Oklahoma State basketball players have continued their success from inside Gallagher-Iba Arena to courts across the world. Whether they're in the NBA, or overseas in Poland, 14 former Cowboys are enjoying success in professional basketball.
Here's what a few have done recently in the NBA and D-League regular seasons and various overseas leagues. Check back with okstate.com throughout the season every Thursday for more weekly updates on your favorite former Oklahoma State Cowboys.
• Tony Allen
Two former Cowboys faced off for the first time this past week when Tony Allen and the Memphis Grizzlies played Markel Brown and the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. Allen finished with six points, seven rebounds and two steals in the 101-91 victory for the Grizzlies. In his other four games this past week, Allen was his normal disruptive self on defense. He had at least one steal in every game, including a game-high four against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday. He also added seven rebounds and nine points in the 112-103 win against the Pacers. Allen and the Grizzlies return to action on November 5 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
• Marcus Smart
As important as Tony Allen has been to the Memphis Grizzlies' defense, Marcus Smart has been equally important to the young Boston Celtics offense. He especially shined on Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs. He finished with 17 points, two rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes of action. He could have been mistaken for Allen on the other end as well, finishing with four steals in the loss to the Spurs. Smart and the Celtics return to action November 4 against the Indiana Pacers.
• Markel Brown
Markel Brown earned his first start of the season for the Brooklyn Nets in a 101-91 loss to Tony Allen and the Memphis Grizzlies after he spent the preseason and first few games of the regular season working to get healthy. He finished with two assists and two points in 14 minutes of action against a fellow Cowboy. He responded with seven points, two rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes on Monday in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in his second-consecutive start. Brown and the Nets return to action on November 4 against the Atlanta Hawks.
