STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team climbed six spots in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, moving up to No. 8 in Tuesday's poll.
After making their debut in the rankings last week, the Cowboys boosted their résumé with a 49-29 victory over previously undefeated TCU on Saturday. The win pushed Oklahoma State from No. 14 to No. 8, marking the largest jump in the College Football Playoff poll since UCLA moved from No. 18 to No. 11 in 2014.
Earlier in the week, Oklahoma State was voted as the nation's fifth-ranked team in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls, giving the Cowboys their highest national ranking since the conclusion of the 2011 season. OSU was also selected as the No. 6 squad in the FWAA-NFF Super 16 poll.
Other Big 12 schools in the College Football Playoff rankings include Baylor (No. 6), Oklahoma (No. 12) and TCU (No. 15).
The Cowboys will face off against Iowa State on Saturday, Nov. 14, with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m.
