Cowboy Football Stays Put in Polls
November 01, 2015 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team maintained its hold of a top-10 national ranking on Sunday, as the Cowboys remained at No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches poll and No. 12 in the Associated Press poll.
Oklahoma State's 70-53 win over Texas Tech on Saturday pushed the squad to a perfect 8-0 in 2015, a mark that has only been reached three times in program history. OSU's last 8-0 start came in 2011, a season in which the Cowboys finished 12-1 and earned a Fiesta Bowl victory.
After making their season debut in the national rankings on Sept. 13, the Cowboys have now been ranked for eight-consecutive weeks. Oklahoma State is joined in this week's polls by three other Big 12 teams, including Baylor (No. 2/2), TCU (No. 3/5) and Oklahoma (No. 13/14).
Oklahoma State's battle against No. 3 TCU this weekend will mark the first matchup between top-10 teams in Stillwater since 2013, when the ninth-ranked Cowboys defeated No. 3 Baylor, 49-17.
OSU's conference tilt against TCU will kick off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7.
