STILLWATER – Several former members of the Oklahoma State football program saw action in week four of the NFL season.
Justin Gilbert, a former Oklahoma State All-American cornerback, made his season debut with the Cleveland Browns, recording three tackles in a 30-27 loss to San Diego. Gilbert's first start of the season comes after a promising rookie season in 2014, in which he played in 14 games and returned one interception for a touchdown.
Oklahoma State played a massive role in the Dallas Cowboys' contest against the New Orleans Saints, as the OSU connection was responsible for each of Dallas' 20 points. Dan Bailey maintained a perfect mark in the kicking game with two field goals and two extra points, putting him at 6-for-6 on field goal attempts this season.
Dallas' first score of the night came via the efforts of Joseph Randle, who rumbled for a short touchdown in the second quarter. Randle's four rushing touchdowns this season tie him for third among all NFL running backs, while his 229 rushing yards rank in the top 15.
Brandon Weeden was efficient in his second-consecutive start with the Cowboys, finishing with 246 yards on 16-of-26 passing attempts. After falling behind in the fourth quarter, Weeden tossed a 17-yard touchdown with less than two minutes remaining to cap off a game-tying 91-yard drive for Dallas.
Also making plays for the Dallas defense was former OSU standout Tyler Patmon, who recorded one tackle and one pass break-up in the Cowboys' overtime loss, while Kevin Williams contributed to the Saints' victory with two tackles.
