Game Notes
► Iowa State entered the game ranked 13th nationally by averaging 82.4 points per game. The Cyclones converted on 49.4 percent of their field goal attempts in their previous 12 contests before facing Oklahoma State. Against the Cowboys' defense, ISU was held to 63 points on 43.9 percent shooting. OSU forced Iowa State into scoring only 26 first-half points (a season-low for the Cyclones) on .357 pct. shooting.
► The first half stayed close, with neither team leading by more than three points until Iowa State went on a 7-1 run late in the half to open up a 26-19 advantage. The Cyclones opened the second half on an 8-2 run to extend their lead to 34-23, but the Cowboys responded with a 20-8 run of their own to take a 43-42 lead. From that point, the two teams essentially exchanged baskets with neither squad opening up more than a seven-point advantage.
► After scoring only four points in the first half, Le'Bryan Nash scored 15 after halftime to finish with 19. Phil Forte added 21 points to help lead the Cowboys. Nash and Forte entered the game as the Big 12's top two scorers, with both averaging 17.3 points per game.
► Tavarius Shine enjoyed his second consecutive strong performance with eight points and solid defensive play in his 23 minutes off the bench. He scored eight points and collected two rebounds in OSU's last game against Kansas State.
► For the third consecutive game, Oklahoma State went with the starting combination of Le'Bryan Nash, Michael Cobbins, Jeff Newberry, Phil Forte and Anthony Hickey.
► Phil Forte has now scored 20 or more points in each of his last three games (21 vs. Missouri, 20 vs. Kansas State and 21 against Iowa State). During that span, he has converted on 22-of-39 field goal attempts (.564 pct.) and 9-of-18 three-point field goal attempts (.500 pct.). Forte's 16 career 20-point scoring games ranks third among all active players in the Big 12.
► Le'Bryan Nash has scored in double figures in 13 consecutive games (all of his games this season).
