Cowboy Track and Field Enters National Rankings

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Oklahoma State men's track and field team made its season debut in the national rankings this week, coming in at No. 16 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll released today.
After earning spots in the national polls on five separate occasions in 2014, this marks the Cowboys' first week in the rankings this season. Oklahoma State is also the fourth-highest ranked team in the Big 12, trailing Texas, Baylor and Texas Tech.
Individually, the Cowboys' have two athletes ranked in the NCAA top 10 in their respective events, including John Teeters, who shares the NCAA's No. 1 time in the 60 meter dash (6.54). Senior Nick Miller's weight throw of 22.56m/74-0 at the K-State Winter Invitational ranks third in the nation.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls stayed put at No. 13, marking the first time in school history that the Oklahoma State women's squad has appeared in the top 15 over consecutive weeks.
In the individual rankings, Chase Ealey's career shot put throw of 16.71m/54-10.0 at last weekend's DeLoss Dodds Invitational ranks 13th in the nation. The Cowgirl junior improved her own school record with the performance, improving her previous high of 16.19m/53-1.5, set a week ago at the Holiday Inn Invitational.
The Oklahoma State track and field program will return to action at the Razorback Invite this weekend, set to begin Friday in Fayetteville, Ark.
