THE SERIES

Cowboy quarterback J.W. Walsh completed 24-of-27 passes for 326 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions to set a school record for pass completion percentage (min. 20 attempts).
CONNECTIONS
Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy faces one of his mentors in UTSA coach Larry Coker. Coker coached at OSU from 1983-89 and served as offensive coordinator for some of the most potent offenses in school history. Gundy was his quarterback from 1986-89.
OSU Assistant Athletic Director for Speed, Strength and Conditioning Rob Glass was a graduate assistant in Stillwater from 1986-88 and took over as strength and conditioning coach in 1989 - all during the time that Coker was on the Cowboy coaching staff.
Oklahoma State director of recruiting Johnny Barr and Coker worked together on the Oklahoma coaching staff from 1990-92, with Barr coaching the Sooner linebackers and Coker serving as offensive coordinator.
UTSA defensive line coach Eric Roark was a three-year letterwinner for Oklahoma State as a defensive back in 1979, 1980 and 1982.
Several on the OSU roster hail from the San Antonio area - running backs coach Jemal Singleton (San Antonio), receiver Austin Hays (San Antonio), cornerback Ramon Richards (San Antonio), linebacker Ryan Simmons (Cibolo), safeties Jordan Sterns (Cibolo) and Tre Flowers (Converse), defensive tackle Vincent Taylor (San Antonio), offensive lineman Deionte Noel (Cibolo) and punter Zach Sinor (Castroville).
The UTSA roster includes three Oklahomans in safety Chase Dahlquist (Tulsa/Union HS), deep snapper Matt Bayliss (Tulsa/Holland Hall) and tight end Cameron Oliver (Owasso/Owasso HS).
Oklahoma State offensive lineman Chris Grisbhy and UTSA safety Tevin Broussard were teammates at Blinn JC.
Oklahoma State offensive lineman Brandon Garrett blocked for UTSA quarterback Tucker Carter at Trinity Valley CC.
Oklahoma State cornerback Ramon Richards and UTSA receiver Earon Holmes both hail from Brackenridge HS in San Antonio.
UTSA linebacker Blake Terry and deep snapper Drew Johnson played for Oklahoma State quarterback J.W. Walsh's father, John Walsh at Guyer HS in Denton, Texas and were teammates with J.W. Walsh and OSU defensive end Jimmy Bean at Guyer.
Oklahoma State fullback Teddy Johnson was a high school teammate of UTSA safety Nic Johnston and cornerback Bennett Okotcha at Coppell HS in Coppell, Texas.
Oklahoma State receiver Brendan Fagan and UTSA defensive end Jason Neill were teammates at Marcus HS in Flower Mound, Texas.
Oklahoma State receiver Cole Neph and UTSA tight end Cameron Oliver were teammates at Owasso HS.
Oklahoma State defensive lineman Eric Davis came from the same high school - John Tyler HS in Tyler, Texas - that produced UTSA cornerback Darrien Starling and safeties Triston Wade and Duke Wheeler.
Oklahoma State long snapper Kaleb Smith and UTSA running back Brian Vaughn both hail from All Saints HS in Fort Worth, Texas.
NOTABLE STREAKS ENTERING THE UTSA GAME
Oklahoma State has won 11 straight non-conference games played in Boone Pickens Stadium.
Oklahoma State has won 16 of its last 19 non-conference games.
Oklahoma State has won 23 straight home games over unranked opponents, dating back to 2009.
Oklahoma State has scored 20 or more points in 54 consecutive games dating back to the start of the 2010 season. That streak is the longest active streak in the country and the second-longest since Division I split into the FBS/FCS in 1978, trailing only USC's 63 straight games of 20 or more points from Sept. 2, 2002 through Nov. 25, 2006.
OSU has at least one touchdown drive of faster than two minutes in each of its last 37 games and in 53 of its last 54 contests.
Dating back to 2005, the Cowboys have won 20 consecutive games when not committing a turnover.
OSU has either won or tied the turnover battle in 22 of its last 26 games.
Dating back to the 2008 season, the Cowboys have won 34 of their last 35 games when winning the turnover battle.
NOTABLE END TO A STREAK
Oklahoma State entered last week's win over Missouri State riding a streak of 22 consecutive games with at least one turnover forced. Among schools in the Power Five conferences, only OSU and Missouri had forced at least one opponent turnover in 20 straight games or more. That streak came to an end against the Bears.
OKLAHOMA STATE IN NON-CONFERENCE GAMES
Oklahoma State is 16-3 in its last 19 non-conference games, dating back to the start of the 2010 season.
It should be noted that OSU has not just beaten up on non-conference teams that can't compete. The Pokes have faced no fewer than three non-conference opponents that went on to play in bowl games per year during that span (Troy, Tulsa and Arizona in 2010; Louisiana, Tulsa and Stanford in 2011; Arizona, Louisiana and Purdue in 2012; Mississippi State, UTSA and Missouri in 2013 and Florida State in 2014).
Oklahoma State is 20-1 in non-conference home games since Mike Gundy took over the program in 2005.
OKLAHOMA STATE VS. CONFERENCE USA
Oklahoma State is 22-4-1 against current members of Conference USA and is 14-1 against Conference USA opposition in Stillwater, with the lone loss coming at the hands of Southern Miss in 2000. The Cowboys have won six straight over Conference USA, with the last loss coming to Louisiana Tech in 2002.
OKLAHOMA STATE VS. UNRANKED OPPONENTS
Since the start of the 2010 season, Oklahoma State is 31-4 against teams not ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. The Cowboys have won 22 straight home games over unranked opponents. The last unranked team to beat OSU in Boone Pickens Stadium was Houston in 2009.
Starting with the Cowboys' 2012 Heart of Dallas Bowl win over Purdue, OSU has won eight of its last nine overall against unranked opponents.
OKLAHOMA STATE VS. TEAMS FROM TEXAS
Oklahoma State is 20-3 in its last 23 games against teams from the state of Texas, dating back to 2009. The Cowboys were a perfect 6-0 against teams from the Lone Star State in 2013, highlighted by convincing road wins at No. 15 Texas Tech (52-34) and at No. 23 Texas (38-13) and a 49-17 pounding of No. 3 Baylor in Stillwater.
