Traffic Management Plan Implemented For Cowboy Football

STILLWATER, Okla. - The City of Stillwater and Oklahoma State University have implemented a new traffic management plan for OSU home football games this season. The plan will work to reduce travel times for traffic leaving Stillwater after the games conclude. Traffic Engineering Consultants, an Oklahoma engineering firm, developed the plan after reviewing last season's travel patterns.
The plan includes changes to signal timing and/or turn restrictions at key intersections. The timing and turn restrictions will be installed after the start of the game and removed approximately two hours after the game ends.
The following intersections will have timing changes and/or turn restrictions:
· Country Club Road at State Highway 51 - Timing changes and left turn restrictions for SH-51 eastbound.
· Squires Landing at SH-51 - Left turn restrictions for SH-51 east and westbound traffic and right turn only for north-south traffic.
· Sangre Road at 6th Avenue - Right turn only for north-south traffic and left turn restrictions for 6th Ave eastbound traffic.
· Western Road at 6th Avenue - Left turn restriction for 6th Avenue eastbound and Western Road northbound.
· Kings Street at 6th Avenue - Left turn restrictions for Kings Street.
· Monroe Street at 6th Avenue - Signal timing changes.
· Washington Street at 6th Avenue - Signal timing changes.
· Hester Street at 6th Avenue - Signal timing changes.
· Knoblock Street at 6th Avenue - Right turn only for Knoblock southbound traffic.
· Duck Street at 6th Avenue - Left turn restrictions for east-west traffic on 6th Avenue and northbound traffic on Duck Street.
· Main Street at Hall of Fame - Left turn restrictions for north-south traffic on Main Street. Right turn only for westbound Hall of Fame.
· McElroy Road at Main Street/Boomer - Left turn restrictions for north-south traffic on Main Street.
· Washington Street at Boomer Road - Signal timing changes.
· Lakeview Road at Washington Street - Signal timing changes.
