Meet The Freshmen: Aurora Dybedokken
September 18, 2014 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
Each week, we will sit down with a Cowboy/Cowgirl newcomer and find out everything from their favorite part about Stillwater, to their favorite TV show. This week, we talked with Aurora Dybedokken, a freshman from Asker, Norway, who took the bronze medal in the 1,500 meters at the 2013 European U20 Championships.
What was the number one reason why you came to Oklahoma State?
“I liked a lot of things about the school, and I especially liked the coaches.”
Since you've been here, what has been your favorite thing at OSU so far?
“Definitely the team. The team chemistry has been great.”
What do you miss most about home?
“I miss the food, but other than that, I feel the same way as Cerake [Geberkidane]. I can't say I miss anything when I've only been here for a month.”
Do you have any superstitions you use before a meet?
“I always have to do five strides. Never more, never less.”
What is the number one goal of your OSU career?
“My main goal is to get to the national finals in track, specifically in outdoor.”
Who is your cross country/track idol?
“I like Henrik Ingebrigsten. He's a Norwegian runner who is really good in the 1,500 meters. He's like the best in Europe, and there aren't a lot of people from Norway who have been that good.”
Do you have a favorite TV show?
“Pretty Little Liars. If you start watching it, you'll really love it.”
Who is your favorite musical artist?
“I like Justin Bieber. A lot of people listen to him in Norway, and I saw him in concert there. It was a great day!”
If you could visit one place in the world, where would you go?
“Australia.”
If your house/apartment was on fire and you only had time to save one possession, what would it be?
“My phone.”
If you could have dinner with any three people (living or dead), who would they be?
“Kim Kardashian, David Beckham and Michael Jackson.”
Give me one word to describe you.
“Um…Awkward? I'm not sure. Don't say 'Belieber,' though. That's definitely awkward. Let's just skip that one.”
