Cowboys Finish Fifth At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed with a 294 during its third round at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational on Sunday to finish in fifth place at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys finished with a 54-hole total of 885, 45-over par, after posting its 14-over score at the par-70, 7,290-yard layout. Illinois closed with a 3-under 277 and finished 11 shots clear of the field at 861.
Stanford's Maverick McNealy and Illinois' Dylan Meyer shared medalist honors at 3-over 213 after each posted a 71 on Sunday.
Sophomore Wyndham Clark led the OSU starting five, posting a 75 to finish at 219 and tied for 15th place.
Freshman Sam Stevens carded the low round of the day from the Cowboy starting five, using an even-par 70 to move into a tie for 23rd place at 222.
Sophomore Zachary Olsen tied for 25th place at 223 after signing for a 74. Redshirt freshman Stratton Nolen was a stroke back and tied for 30th place at 224 after closing with a 75.
Redshirt freshman Brendon Jelley's 76 tied him for 49th place at 229.
OSU will be back in action on Oct. 17 when they begin play at the U.S. Collegiate Championship.
