Cowboys Finish Eighth At Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed out its season-opening event with a 6-over 366 on Sunday at The Carmel Cup to finish in eighth place at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The Cowboys used a lineup consisting of just five players at the 6-count-5 event and wrapped up the 54-hole tournament with a 21-over total of 1,101. Georgia won the event at 17-under 1,063, finishing five shots clear of Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt's Hunter Stewart won the individual title, posting a 205 score to finish two shots clear of the field.
Sophomore Wyndham Clark and true freshman Sam Stevens shared 24th place at 1-over 217 to lead the Cowboy lineup. Clark closed with a 72, while Stevens posted a 73 during his third round.
Redshirt freshman Brendon Jelley finished alone in 28th place with a 4-over total of 220 after signing for a 73 on Sunday.
Sophomore Zachary Olsen's 74 tied him for 33rd place at 222, while redshirt freshman Stratton Nolen also carded a 74 to finish at 225 and tied for 44th place.
OSU will be back in action on Sept. 12 at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational.
