MONCTON, New Brunswick, Canada – Oklahoma State's Courtney Dike helped lead Nigeria to the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup final Wednesday as the Cowgirl star scored the first goal for the Super Falconets in a 6-2 semifinal win over Korea DPR.
A sophomore for head coach Colin Carmichael's Cowgirls, Dike got Nigeria on the board just 64 seconds into the match as she sent a low shot to the far post to give her team a 1-0 lead. The goal was Dike's second of the World Cup; in pool play, she notched the fastest goal in FIFA Women's World Cup history as she found the back of the net just 18 seconds in against South Korea.
Dike, a native of Edmond, Oklahoma whose parents Vincent and Jacinta hail from Nigeria, will lead Nigeria into the World Cup final Sunday at 6 p.m.
