IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State had a league-leading three players named to the 2014 Preseason All-Big 12 Conference Soccer Team, it was announced today by the league office.
OSU junior Allie Stephenson and Cowgirl sophomores Natalie Calhoun and Courtney Dike, who all earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors in 2013, were each named to the preseason team, which was selected by the league's head coaches. West Virginia also placed three players on the team.
Stephenson ranked second on OSU with six goals a year ago, a total that was also sixth in the conference. The midfielder added three assists and proved a clutch performer with three of her six goals credited as game-winners.
Dike returns as the Big 12's leading scorer in 2014 after racking up 13 goals as a freshman, a total that ranked second in the league. She recorded a trio of multi-goal games, and 30 of her 58 shots were on goal.
In Calhoun, the Cowgirls have one of the league's top defenders. A starter in 21 games as a freshman, she ranked second on the team with 2,067 minutes played and helped OSU record five shutouts and a 1.06 goals against average.
