Hill Named Big 12 Preseason Newcomer of the Year

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State's Tyreek Hill has been voted as the 2014 Big 12 Preseason Newcomer of the Year, the conference announced Wednesday with the release of the 2014 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team.
Hill transferred from Garden City Community College where he made 32 catches for 532 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore. He also carried the ball 101 times for 659 yards and five scores.
After enrolling at Oklahoma State in January, Hill made an immediate impact on the Cowboy track team by winning the 200 meters and placing second in the 60 meters at the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship to help OSU to its first Conference men's team title. He placed fifth in the 200 meters at the NCAA Indoor championship to claim All-America status.
Hill is joined as a preseason individual award selection by Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty, who was picked as the Preseason Offensive Player of the year, and TCU defensive lineman Devonte Fields, who was picked as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
