STILLWATER, Okla. - "How I Got Here" is a series that asks Oklahoma State football players to detail their football background and careers and how they got to where they are now. Today's edition features running back Caleb Muncrief from Madill, Okla.
On when he started playing football
“I started playing football in fourth grade. I played in the Pee Wee League – I actually played for the fifth grade team. I was playing for my dad.”
On if his dad strongly influenced his football career
“Yeah, he coached for nine years whenever I was young. Initially he wasn't going to coach Pee Wee League, but he agreed to it because they said I could play as a fourth grader on the fifth grade team.”
On what position he grew up playing
“Running back and safety, really. That's all I really played. I love scoring touchdowns, but I also like making big plays – making big plays on defense and getting interceptions. Scoring touchdowns is my favorite.”
On coming to Oklahoma State
“It's my dream school. I always wanted to go here. My dad walked on here back in the '80s. I always dreamed of coming to play football here.”
On his goals
“My collegiate goals are to win the Big 12 and national championships and get a good education. That's another reason I came here - the education was good.”
