Carmichael Adds Four To Cowgirls' Roster

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State head coach Colin Carmichael has added four players to the Cowgirls' roster for the 2014 season, he announced today.
Each of the newcomers joins OSU from the high school ranks; two of the players hail from Oklahoma, with one each from Texas and Alaska.
"We are very excited that this group of young ladies have joined our program," Carmichael said. "Each of them has the ability to improve our program both on and off the field. We are happy to welcome them to the Cowgirl Soccer family."
• Holly Brehmer, MF, Eagle River, Alaska (Chugiak HS/Chugiak Soccer Club)
An 11-year member of the Chugiak Soccer Club Cyclones, where she led the club to state titles in 2011 and 2012, Brehmer also established herself as one of the top prep stars in Alaska. A four-year letterwinner and three-time all-conference performer at Chugiak High School, she was named the 2014 Alaska Gatorade Player of the Year after racking up 24 goals and 12 assists as a senior. Brehmer also earned the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award.
• Abbey Bright, D, Edmond, Okla. (North HS/OFC '96)
Bright has been a member of seven state championship teams and a regional title team with coach Steven Phillips' Oklahoma FC. She also starred at Edmond North High School, where she led the Huskies to a Class 6A state championship and two runner-up finishes.
A four-year letterwinner at ENHS, Bright recorded 19 goals and 21 assists in her career, which included eight goals and 10 assists as a senior. She earned all-state honors and was also a three-time all-conference and four-time all-district performer.
• Lana Duke, D/MF, Edmond, Okla. (Memorial HS/TSC Hurricane '96)
Duke was a member of the Region III ODP player pool from 2010-13 and was in the ECNL Player Development Program in 2013. She starred for coach Donivan Bradshaw and TSC Hurricane '96 over the last three years.
A four-year starter and two-year team captain at Edmond Memorial High School, Duke played for former OSU All-American Yolanda Odenyo and led the Bulldogs to the Class 6A state championship game as a senior. She earned all-state honors and was a 2014 Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year finalist as well as the Oklahoma City All-Sports 2014 Female Athlete of the Year. She was a three-time all-district performer during her career.
Duke was considered a four-star recruit by TopDrawerSoccer.com and is the seventh-ranked defender in the South Region.
A member of the 2010 Region III ODP team, Rivers also starred for coach Hugh Bradford's D'Feeters Soccer Club, leading the team to an ECNL conference title in 2014 and helping the team qualify for ECNL Nationals in 2013 and 2014.
At Byron Nelson High School, Rivers was a two-time district defensive player of the year and two-time all-state performer. As a senior and team captain, she recorded three goals and five assists and finished her career with nine goals and 17 assists. A four-year letterwinner, she led BNHS to a district title and the Class 4A state semifinals in 2014, to the 4A regional finals in 2013 and to the 4A state finals in 2012.
