Wyndham Clark Wraps Up Day One At Palmer Cup

WALTON-ON-THE-HILL, England - Oklahoma State's Wyndham Clark contributed to the United States point total during the opening day of action at the Palmer Cup on Thursday at Walton Heath Golf Club.
The rising sophomore went 0-1-1 as Europe claimed a 5.5-4.5 lead over the American squad.
During the morning's four-ball matches, Clark teamed with Anthony Maccaglia to take on Spain's Pep Angles and England's Louis Tomlinson. The Europeans led for 11 of the first 13 holes and held 2-up leads on two occasions. The American duo squared the match at the 14th before both sides parred halved the remaining holes to halve the match.
Clark teamed with Stewart Jolly for four-ball action during Thursday's afternoon session, falling to the Scottish duo of Jack McDonald and James Ross by a 3-and-1 count. The Americans held the advantage for the first 12 holes of the match. Starting at the 12th, the Europeans won four consecutive holes with a birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie stretch to take a 2-up lead with three remaining.
Clark will take on Sweden's Erik Oja tomorrow during singles play.
